Birds and Beans News - April 2010

May is Migratory Bird Month!

Migratory birds are returning! Their songs fill the air. Its a good time to reflect on the emptiness of their absence and take joy in their return. Ensure their continuation in future years and generations by drinking our certified Bird Friendly Coffee.

We're busy with lots of upcoming events. Follow us on Facebook for more frequent updates.

Samuel Smith Park May 29

Last year, we held a Migratory Bird Day Bird Walk in Sam Smith park and this year we're doing it again as part of the First Migratory Bird Day Festival to be held at Colonel Sam Smith Park sponsored by Toronto Parks & Recreation and the TRCA, so it is catching on! The Festival will take place from 8 AM to 12 PM and will include Bird Walks and various demonstrations. Watch our facebook page for updates as we get them.

Book Launch with Dr. Bridget Stutchbury

Join Dr. Bridget Stutchbury as she lauches her new book "The Bird Detective: Investigating the Secret Lives of Birds" at the Toronto Botanical Gardens. See the recent article in the Toronto Star to learn about the book. For details about the launch see click here.

Upcoming Bird Walks

The next walk will be Saturday April 24th from 9am to 11am at Colonel Samuel Smith Park. See the CCFEW Bird Walks page for details. Sponsored by Birds and Beans.
