Birds and Beans News - September 2009

New Offerings

We delighted to offer a new certified Bird Friendly® coffee: Mexico Maya. It is grown by a cooperative of indigenous growers representing various Mayan linguistic groups of Chiapas. They are clustered in the southern highlands within the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere. By working together and pooling resources these farmers have been able to both preserve the environment and improve their lifestyle while producing the highest quality coffee.

The coffee is balanced and nutty with a smokey background, a sweet aroma and smooth body. It's the coffee of the month for October.

Thanks for inviting us Margaret Atwood!
