This wonderful coffee is grown at 3800 feet under the mixed canopy of 40-45 ft native shade trees in India's Western Ghats about four kilometers from the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. The estate, originally planted in 1888, was certified organic in 1989 under the ownership of ornithologist and naturalist K.R. Sethna and is welcoming to the birds and other wildlife from the preserve.
The coffee is bold and balanced maintaining interest from aroma to aftertaste. It is rich yet smooth with slight sweetness and distinct lingering malt or caramel.
